Photographers love a misty woodland and I’m no different, it helps simplify the chaos. Beech woodlands are a particular favourite of mine and the relatively straight clean nature of the trees lends themselves to my compositional style. I’d scouted this woodland in north Dorset and travelled up a few times when conditions looked like they might be good, but on that morning they were perfect. Just the right amount of mist penetrating the woodland and a low golden morning sun just side lighting the scene.
