This small Dorset woodland holds some beautiful old Beech trees, I’ve wanted to visit the location for quite some time as the autumnal colours were still at their peak. A storm had stripped most of the leaves from the trees and with another storm was quickly advancing off the Atlantic. I had one day of calm between the storms and I’m so glad I made the trip there, the conditions were perfect. Recent rain had enhanced the colours and made the trees almost oily looking, the mist clung in the air allowing a little separation with the background.

This particular row of trees line an old Roman road though they weren’t around back then I bet they have seen some things in their time, I always think back to the saying ‘if trees could talk’.
